Conveyor controller and PLC-replacement platform — SMEMA-9851 compatible

DIN-rail conveyor controller with conveyor logic in place out of the box. SAM built it for PCB-handling conveyors first. It also applies to general indoor conveyor automation. Use it where a Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Mitsubishi PLC is overkill in cost and in ladder-programming complexity.

Why this controller vs. the conventional setup

  • IPC-SMEMA-9851 compatibility — drops into existing PCB production lines that expect the standard SMEMA handshake between machines.
  • Conveyor logic in place — ships ready-configured. No ladder-diagram development cycle.
  • Bidirectional operation — runs forward and reverse under program control.
  • Integrated stepper motor drivers — no external driver module needed for the supported motor spec. This means less wiring and simpler maintenance.
  • Basic and advanced configurations — two tiers. The advanced tier extends the scope.
  • DIN-rail mount — installs in standard industrial control cabinets alongside existing equipment.
  • Retrofit-friendly — deploys into existing indoor lines without rebuilding the control cabinet.

FAQ

Why this instead of a generic PLC?

Conveyor logic is in place out of the box — no ladder-diagram development cycle. The engineering time to ladder-program a generic PLC for a typical PCB conveyor often exceeds the cost of this unit.

What is the SMEMA implementation?

IPC-SMEMA-9851 compatible, the standard handshake protocol between PCB-line machines. Drops into existing SMEMA-aware lines without protocol-adapter intermediates.

What is the difference between basic and advanced?

Both ship with the conveyor + SMEMA logic. The advanced tier extends I/O count, monitoring options, and configuration flexibility. Contact us with your application and we recommend a tier.

Can I use it for non-PCB conveyors?

Yes. The SMEMA layer is optional. The controller also works for general indoor material-handling conveyors. Outdoor and harsh-environment installs are out of scope. Heavy-industrial 3-phase VFD-driven conveyors are also out of scope. This unit is DIN-rail, indoor, and stepper-driven.

Is this a quote-only or direct-buy SKU?

Direct-buy via Shopify checkout is enabled at the published price. For volume orders, advanced-tier scoping, or installation support, we switch you to a quote flow.
