Tabletop precision respooler for wire, filament, and coil winding

Two independently vector-controlled motors coordinate spool rotation and traverse in closed-loop — the precision wind pattern that transformers, magnet-wire, medical tubing, and 3D-filament respoolers need without a floor-mount cable line. Single electrical connection, no shop air required, fits on a standard workbench.

What it does that a single-motor winder can’t

  • Synchronized dual vector-control motors — one drives the take-up spool, one drives the traverse. Coordinated in closed loop, not via a mechanical linkage. No backlash, no drift in spool-to-traverse ratio.
  • ±1.5% length accuracy — consistent run-to-run, repeatable across recipes.
  • 5–2000 g closed-loop tension control — adjustable to the material; stable enough for magnet-wire, medical tubing, and natural-fiber respooling without kinking, twisting, or stretch damage.
  • Up to 800 RPM winding speed; 2.5 kW drive power.
  • No compressed air — unusual for a precision winder; eliminates the shop-air infrastructure dependency.
  • Recipe management — program a job once, recall and run repeatably. Reduces setup time on production runs of mixed SKUs.
  • Web-connected interface — remote job tracking and use metrics. Industry 4.0 ready.
  • Tabletop footprint — fits on a standard workbench. Single electrical connection.
  • Safety: emergency stop and fuse protection built in.

FAQ

What materials can it wind?

Metal wire, polyamide, nylon, and natural fibers are the four primary classes. The closed-loop tension range of 5–2000 g is wide enough to accommodate fragile filaments at the low end and heavier-gauge wire at the high end. For unusual materials, send us a sample and the target spool spec — we’ll confirm fit.

Does it need compressed air?

No. The 2.22R is one of the few precision winders in its class that does not require shop air. A single electrical connection is all that’s needed at install.

What about traverse repeatability vs. a single-motor + linkage winder?

Mechanical-linkage traverses introduce backlash and drift between spool rotation and the traverse position. The 2.22R uses two independently vector-controlled motors coordinated in closed loop — there is no mechanical linkage between them, and synchronization is enforced electronically. The result is a layered wind without the irregularity that drives rework on a linkage-driven machine.

Can I run different jobs without re-tuning every time?

Yes — recipe management is built in. Program a job once with the desired tension, speed, and traverse pattern; recall and run it repeatably for production runs of mixed SKUs.

What does “web-connected” mean exactly?

The 2.22R has a web interface for recipe management and use metrics. You can pull job data, monitor production, and review use history from a network browser. Extended Wi-Fi range is an optional enhancement; reach out with your network requirements.

What spool sizes does it support?

Custom bobbin and reel sizing is available as an optional enhancement — request a quote with your spool dimensions and we’ll confirm fit.

Is this a quote-only or direct-buy SKU?

Direct-buy via Shopify checkout is enabled. For volume orders, customization, international shipping, installation support, or training, we’ll switch you to a quote flow — contact us with your scope.

What does install look like?

Single electrical connection. No air drop. Fits on a standard workbench — no floor space allocation, no rigging. Most installs are operator-trainable in a normal shift; we provide ticket-based support direct from NC.

What about a datasheet?

A full technical datasheet with footprint, weight, electrical input, certifications, and tolerance specifications is available on request — contact us.
